Affordable Quality Treeless Saddles

Sussex Equestrian Supplies is a company that aims to provide quality treeless saddles at an affordable price.

  We are 2 friends who have been converted to treeless saddles ourselves,due initially to a very difficult to fit Welsh Section D mare. After many attempts to get a saddle made to measure for her,we found that her tendancy to gain and lose weight in the blink of an eye made keeping the fit just right a nightmare. Any change in the fit caused her to display behaviour that made riding her impossible. Meanwhile one of us had changed to a treeless saddle on her Dales mare which proved to be a great move...and when we tried it on the Welshie she moved amazingly.

   However,as is the case with many horse owners, her owner could not afford the large outlay on one of her own,and so the search for a well priced but quality option started.

    A lot of "frogs" were seen before finally we found the perfect solution, our western style treeless saddle. The Welshie moves perfectly in it,the price was achievable and soon we had 3 friends riding in the same saddle, and the Dales mare was swapped to one as well,with the expensive saddle selling on e-bay for almost as much as was paid for it originally!

    All the horses/ponies ridden in the saddle for up to a year have their backs checked regularly and all pass with flying colours.

    We have managed to expand the range available to cover most tastes , from the Western style which has already provided a light weight option to a life long Western rider who hardly rode as she could no longer lift the traditional western saddle onto her horse, to the slightly more traditional looking English style.

     Perhaps the one we are most excited about is the small childs size saddle,as this has proved to be great for 2 little girls who ride my shetland pony,and very comfortable for him as well.

      Whilst we acknowledge that treeless saddles arent for all riders and/or horses we aim to provide a chance for people to try them without breaking the bank.
